Dancing with Lavender at impromtu street party

The Lavender Launch

This Lavendar Lauch celebrated our first foray into Graffoodi-ism. As is the way with ism-s, things started out exploratory and weird.

This unused hole in the cement incircled the lavender's pot, making out first placement easy, if unassuming. Oh, and ENS <3's KD

We found a lot of urban nightscape photos - Don Pomodoro compared the many, many, many lonely urban night scenes we observed to Hopper piantings. A lot of the scenes made us feel sad and wasted, but this one seemed different.

We played with wacky chaotic placements.

On 24th and Mission we ran into an impromptu dance party. Here Radish McBean gets down with our plant, which felt strangely immobile. We were all surprised how many people were willing to hold the lavender and get funky. A drunk and beer-bottle-weilding tan guy in flannel spun the lavender in the air above his head and rubbed it on his croch. A cute middle-aged woman with black hair danced with it like it was an excercise ball, drawing it in to her chest and pushing it back out. A lot of dirt was spilled. Some people incorrectly identified it as MOTA which might explain its popularity, but I choose to think people just feel enthusiastic about lavender.

My favorite shot of the evening. Don Pomodoro orders da fries.

We must have been in the MDs for 30 minutes, and she never acknowledged us feeding french fries to our plant. But it was nice watching her apply the seemingly infinite layers of her make-up.

Finally, we left the Lavender outside the farmer's market parking lot on 24th btwn Sanchez and Vicksburg. If you are looking for some fresh lavendar, please have some.
